Linux firewall physical position
Hello, im wondering where my linux firewall should be? before the routher or after? I have not made it yet but plan to use IPcop. This is an actual linux distro no?

I would place it as far to the edge as you can get it.

Ok well i mean should i have my firewall pluged into my router or should i get a 2nd NIC into my firewall server and put it between my modem and router?

Between the modem and the router is where I would place it.
If this it to be a true firewall you are going to need a second Nic.
