    MOTD Help

    I was wondering if there is a way to set the MOTD to pull random quotes from a web site or a file? I would like my MOTD to be random everytime I login to my server.

    you would need some script to replace /etc/motd.

    here is a rather simple way of doing it:

    i would suggest you look at the fortune program. it generates random quotes and what not. just have it fire off every minute or so and rewrite /etc/motd
