I have a server that i maintain 24/7 and i usually have my phone with a shell or a laptop nearby that i can use just to check everything is ok, i'm not sure how i can do this but i want to be able to call my VOIP number from any telephone around the world which will ask me to enter a pin code etc... and give me a few options such as reboot system, average cpu usage. I have the number and i know i need a VOIP client running on the server to pick up the phone calls in, but after that i do not know of any software apart for Asterisk that can deal with the requests. Even with Asterisk i don't know what i'm doing and i need some advice.

I know there are better ways of managing a server, but this is a little bit of fun implementing one of the old methods of communicating with a server

Thanks, Dave
