    Migration all partitions from one to another linux

    Hi everbody,

    I have ubuntu 10.04 linux server and want to migrate all system to another separate hardware which OS is also Ubuntu. My existing system partition table is in below

    Code:
    $ df -h
    Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
    /dev/md2              1.4T  103G  1.3T   8% /
    udev                  5.9G  220K  5.9G   1% /dev
    none                  5.9G     0  5.9G   0% /dev/shm
    none                  5.9G  552K  5.9G   1% /var/run
    none                  5.9G     0  5.9G   0% /var/lock
    none                  5.9G     0  5.9G   0% /lib/init/rw
    none                  1.4T  103G  1.3T   8% /var/lib/ureadahead/debugfs
    /dev/md0              183M   46M  128M  27% /boot
    as you can see that 103 GB is using on root partition. It's very large to transfer. How can I dump all partition and restore to another system? is there any effective way to do that?

    Partitions on a drive; like when you've got more than one logical drive existing on one physical drive.

    I already know partition on a drive. But when you say it as a solution I don't understand what it really is...
