a partition on a second drive will not share (samba)
I am running Mint 11 64bit and have 2 hard drives in it. I use the machine as a media server to an appletv2 running xbmc. I had no problems with it when there was only 1 hd in it, but I added a second because I ran out of space. I have been sharing via samba through nautilus by checking share this folder, as well as the 2 options. Here is my list of partitions:
/dev/sdb1 ext3 Linux Mint 11 (10gb)
/dev/sdb2 swap (5gb)
/dev/sdb3 vfat Storage (625gb)
added this one
/dev/sda1 vfat Dell Utility
/dev/sda2 ntfs Recovery (11gb)
/dev/sda3 ext4 Media 2 (489gb)
Of course I have no use for sda1&2, but decided to leave them on just in case I want to put back into the pc I took it out of. Sharing a folder on /sda3 does not do anything. Looks fine on my Mint machine, but accessing via xbmc on appletv2 I get an error "share not available", and from my macbook it states "original item cannot be found". Any ideas what my problem could be?
Also of note, Disk Utility that comes with Mint shows the drive and attributes, but I installed Ubuntu's Storage Device Manager and it only shows the sdb1-3 and sda1, but in listing sda1 it actually shows sdb3??? Any help I would be very grateful.
