    New Server Setup

    Hello,

I currently run a Debian with a GUI and on that i run a Squid server and 2 minecraft servers. Now that Squid server was just a test so on the next version, that will not be running.

What i want to do is install Debian, or other OS but then without GUI. I can install the minecraft server that way so no problem there.
The only thing is, i want that server only a ethernet cable plugged in and a power cable. So remote access.

    How do i do that?

    Erates

Initially you will need access to the box, a keyboard and a monitor. When you have the basic OS installed, set up a SSH server and make sure you can access the server remotely. When you can do that, all you need is the power and ethernet.
    What do we want?
    Time machines!

    When do we want 'em?
    Doesn't really matter does it!?

    Ok thx it's working

But now one question. Can i use a SSH to start a Minecraft server (wich takes over the command line shizzle) do some commands. Then exit the session, after a while, startup a new SSH connection, and use that to get in the "old" SSH connection? So actually pickup from where i got?

So with this i can start the server, let it run. Shut down my PC, come back 2 days later, startup PuTTY again, and log back in and the server continues? Cause i just tested and when i close the SSH connection, the Minecraft server shuts down.
