when i install apache on ubuntu. i firstly installed apr , apr-util , pcre which were installed in dir /home/zhangli/local. Then i using the command
    ./configure --prefix=/home/zhangli/local/apache --with-apr=/home/zhangli/local/apr --with-apr-util=/home/zhangli/local/apr-util --with-pcre=/home/zhangli/local/pcre

then it can make ,but at last it says that
" libtool: link: cannot find the library `/home/zhangli/local//lib/libapr-1.la' or unhandled argument `/home/zhangli/local//lib/libapr-1.la' "

i can't understand why this path has double slashes after 'local' directory

is there any reason why you are not using the binary apache package in the Ubuntu repos?

    Code:
    sudo apt-get install apache2
