    sendmail question

    Hey All,

    Not to familiar with sendmail. I don't use it and thought I had disabled it a while back. However it seems to enable "itself" every now and again. There doesn't appear to be any mail being sent, however the daemon activity appears weird to me. Below is a small sample from one of the log files. They're all pretty much the same. Is this normal behavior? I'm guessing it's just a looping queue, but the frequency seems odd. Can anyone tell me whats going on here. Thanks!

    That's the queue runner for a submit-only sendmail setup. Since you don't say what distro or give any other details, I can't tell you anything about what to do about it. It's not running on a consistent interval, so it's likely from something doing some kind of cli mail submission that frequently.

    Stop sendmail

    Why not run the following commands to address this problem?

    chkconfig --level 3456 sendmail off

service sendmail stop
