Hi everyone,

I'm currently struggling configuration my PDC providing an authentication against PAM.
Indeed my config works using smbclient to connect but I still cannot connect from a windows client machine (Xp or 7).
To give more details, configuring my /etc/samba/smb.conf with
Code:
encrypt passwords = no
obey pam restrictions = yes
I can connect with my ldap credentials via smbclient but I'm unable to join the domain from a windows client.
However having the encrypt password parameter set to yes I can join the domain but I'm unable to connect with my ldap credentials.
Consequently, a question that comes out is is this possible and does it make sense to configure a Samba PDC with authentication against PAM (windows does deal with encryption while PAM does not) ?
