    Hi

    Code:
    hdparm -tT /dev/sda
    will give you a clue. More extended tests can be done using bonnie++. You may also find other tools in your software installer, by searching the word "benchmark".

    thax for the reply can i check disk performance using iostat command?

    , it appears iostat is more a reporting tool than a benchmarking tool.
