Post Website is very slow ( No hardware/connection issues)

    Hello,

Recently my websites with a database began loading very slow ( like 30 seconds ).

    Plain (html/css) sites are fine.

The hardware of the box is fine (i3 3.4ghz /16 gb ram @ 20% usage ). Also the connection is fine, pinging it with about 8ms.

The reason why I do not know how this suddently came is because I didn't do a instant change.
The last change I did in the MySQL ( I think it is the MySQL ) is the max_allowed_packets which I turned up to about 256M.

    This is a tail -f /var/log/messages

    Code:
May 7 01:20:04 senethic named[2674]: client 127.0.0.1#58519: error sending response: host unreachable

May 7 01:21:09 senethic named[2674]: client 127.0.0.1#37332: error sending response: host unreachable

Edit: I may be dealing with a DNS attack > http://corpocrat.com/2010/01/09/secu...n-dos-attacks/

Thank you for your time and help.

    Kind regards,

    Hi, Senethic,

Does the beginning of those kind of log entries coincide with the beginning of your problems? Also, have you tried setting max_allowed_packets back to its original value?

    Hello nplusplus,

Thank you for taking your time to reply.
I couldn't find the problem so I exported the server settings, reinstalled the server and then imported them.
Seems to have solved the problem. Unfortunately I do not have the knowledge to find this problem.

    Kind regards,

    Senethic
