How to Join a Linux DC to a Windows Domain?

Does anyone know if it's possible to join a Linux domain controller based on LDAP such as Zentyal to a Windows Server 2012 in a "parent - child" relationship for file sharing? I want to connect two sites over a hardware VPN but have a server at the secondary site just in case the connection is disrupted (power failure at the main site etc.) it won't knock the 5 people at the other site offline and out of commission until it's restored.

Can you? Yes since both Linux LDAP controllers and Windows DC both implement the OpenLDAP protocols. How do you? Sorry, but I'm clueless here since I haven't needed to do that as yet. Remember, Google is your friend!
