    Problem DNS hiding bind version

    I have tried everything to hide this DNS bind version I am running centos 6.5 and cpanel with bind 9.
    From what I see ther are so many people saying to just add this to the top of the file

    options {
    directory "/var/named";
    version " what ever you want here"

    };

    Only this don't work at all.
    I have some firewall settings below this file
    also there is another options already in there.
    I tried adding this below that options I also tried
    adding it above in a separate function on top of the named.conf file nothing seems to work bind will not start after to add to it I keep getting errors.
    Can someone help me with this mess.

    Regards vinny

    Try adding just

    version " what ever you want here"

    to the existing options
    What do we want?
    Time machines!

    When do we want 'em?
    Doesn't really matter does it!?

    Thanks

    So are you saying at the top of the file just put that
    do this at the top of the /etc/named.conf
    I think I tried that I am on my way out I will try that though.
    Thanks

    version ""

    You said there was an existing options block? If so, add that line inside that..
    What do we want?
    Time machines!

    When do we want 'em?
    Doesn't really matter does it!?
