vsftpd and router/firewall
hi,
my ftp with vsftpd works smooth but I have a router problem,
my ftp runs on port 1200 with a data port of 1202, works fine!
but everytime a client logs in he gets blocked on my router although port 1200 and port 1202 are open...
I need to open all ports so that it will work, any idea why?
I see that they come in at random ports, I dont know why...
I can clearly see when logging in on my ftp that port 1202 is used as data port not a range of ports as I set ip up in vsftpd!
thnx,
davy

I think that the ports on which it comes in are fixed. I have 55000:57000 passed on my router, but it's not allowing me to ftp my website. After 5 tries, I saw it wanting to use ports from 51526 up to 63651. I think I'm just going to pass anything from port 20 to anything above 50000. I'll let you know if I run into another instance where that's not quite enough.

Edit: Lol...just after I changed it, it tried 49868.
