    Error installing mysql in debian


    i am trying to install mysql on my debian linux machine. i gave the following command and got the following error..


    apt-get install mysql-server --fix-missing

    i was able to install mysql without any problems without using security updates, just packets ftom ftp.debian.org.

    hi ,

    i solved the problem by downloading the missing packages from the site given in the error msg itself!! and installing it using dpkg...

    Error installation of mysql-server

    hello,
    when i try to install mysql-server with the apt-get install
    or with dpkg -i command with the same package (.deb)

    i have an error : subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1

    the installation of mysql-client and mysql-common was successfully installed

    I have Debian3.0r on a Vmware machine

    i have enough space disk to install mysql.
