    mysql with webmin on linux


    can any one tell me how to create a new user for mysql in easy terms
    as i am new to linux.
    I can use the webmin side or the desktop.
    I cant conntect to my phpbb on a fresh install no matter what i do it wont work.

    can any one help me out

    Definatly check out the docs and learn how to do it from the command prompt, but after that, if you want a quick N' easy way of administrating MySQL, check out PHPmyAdmin

    After reading what you have said, I am still a bit uncertain what you are trying to achieve. you are trying to set up a user for mysql or setting phpbb? What won't work?

    If you want to add a user to mysql thru web in webmin, what you need to is to log in, using the port you specified in webmin. Then going into servers tab and then mysql. After you click on user permissions, then you have the option to add a new database user and set up the various settings.
