    samba and windows Xp

i`m trying to change samba password from windows BOX. My Linux is PDC for a domain and itz debian.
Every time i try to change pass i get a message" can`t change password, domain is not advalible" - i set all smb.conf setting(i hope) passwd program is passwd %u, and passwd chat is also set. What could be wrong ?

is it possible to lock user accound after 5 tries ?
is possibe to make samba remember last 5 password, so user can't set prev password ?

    i`m using samba 2.x

    please help
