    Problem with OPenmailserver

    Hello Again

    I am facing problem in configuring this email server called OpenWebmail
    ater installing 4 rpms(one of openWebmail and three other like perl etc.)

    i then configured them now i am facing 2 problems


    as said in mannual to change values of 3 lines which were:

    mannual reads:

    Please change the following 3 options in openwebmail.conf
    dbm_ext .db
    dbmopen_ext none
    dbmopen_haslock no
    dbm_ext .db
    dbmopen_ext %dbm_ext%
    dbmopen_haslock yes
    but i cant find those line in this file. So i added them my self in conf file.

    2ndly help me out what to do next.

    I run this file as said in mannual to start services.

    [root@localhost openwebmail]# ./ --init

    Welcome to the Open WebMail!

    This program is going to send a short message back to the developer,
    so we could have the idea that who is installing and how many sites are
    using this software, the content to be sent is:

    OS: Linux 2.4.20-8 i686
    Perl: 5.008
    WebMail: Open WebMail 2.51 20050228

    Send the site report?(Y/n) n

    Thank you.

    BUT Still when i open my browser and type nothing appears

    and message reads that connection to the refused.

    Can any body tell me how to run openWebmail its my first time to webmail and keep in mind that i am new to linux so help in easy language would be highly appriciated.

    i have rh9 and i am new to linux and understanding servers. i yestday installaed kerio mail server which was easy but not free but this free openwebmail cant get into my mind please help.
