Yeah, it works for sure, and I think it looks quite nice.
However, I don't think that you should use 3rd party servers for counters and stuff, but rather implement an own one in PHP or something. I'd also make the news system MySQL based and just use PHP as a front-end for displaying news data. But that's just me.

Well I don't really know PHP or mySQL that well, and I'm thinking of implementing my own counter, I just put that in there for shits and giggles(as the saying goes)


PHP is fairly easy to learn, is it not?

Yes, the only reason my page would go down is because(as of right now) I can't leave my computer on 24/7
