Sendmail / SMTP Auth problems
So I'm trying to get SMTP auth installed/setup, but am running into some errors when I go through the installation. Mainly getting errors with the Cyrus SASL installation portion. I'm reading the docs provided with the package and on Sendmail's site. http://www.sendmail.org/~ca/email/auth.html
I'm a simple guy, and this doc seems to have a few things in there that catch me off guard.
Has anyone been successful with installing smtp auth? any problems/fixes I should be doing first??
Help would be appreciated

SMTP Auth with SASL
I guess I should have specified that this is on my Slackware server, not Mandrake. Although I did just find a link to help install RPM files in slackware, and installed that - which could be useful with some other programs.
BUT... I could not find any links for Cyrus-SASL as an RPM, so that option is out
Any others?
Slackware 10.1 and Sendmail 8.13

Re: SMTP AUtH
Well it won't directly help, but I'll give it a try. That link is for Postfix and SASL, NOT Sendmail and SASL, but might give what I'm missing

Sendmail is a difficult program to start with. Configuration is not straight forward. Postfix amongst others is a good alternative for sendmail.

Thanks
