    I get an error of "unknown user (user ID)" using S


    I am getting an error of "unknown user (user ID)" when I am tring to upload files. The user ID and password have been veified. I do not know the SCP protocall very well yet.

    Anyone have a suggestion where I need to go to on the srver to check for problems and what they are?

    Greetings,

    Make sure the user exists on the server on which you are doing the SCP.
    The syntax for SCP is "scp usrename@<server IP>:<Destination from where to copy> <Target>

    Thanks, the User exist. I found that the system that was being used to scp from was not up to date. Problem solved.
