Is this possible and if so, where do I start?
I want to setup my laptop (currently connected to Comcast via a Syslink router, later will be directly connected through my school's ISP) as an ssh/ftp/email server. So far, though, I've only seen how this would work on the client end. I am really a newbie to both linux and networking, but I've got a lot of free time and a real desire to learn how to do this.
My end goal is to be able to walk around with a minimalist, live-CD distro and use any computer with an internet connection and the requisite hardware to access my laptop back home and download/upload files via ftp and read/send email via pine/ssh.
So can it be done? If it can, is there anything else I need? Is there a book somewhere that will explain how to set it all up?
