Okay! I finally got Apache server started! ya hoo!! It seems #/etc/init.d/apache start wont work with Fedora, it is #service httpd start.
Once I typed that command in and ran it I was good to go and no longer got the Connection refused Alert when I entered http://localhost. My wife got me Linux All-In-One Desk Reference for Dummies (Naba Barkakati) and in 5 muniutes of reading I accomplished what I couldn't do in over a week.
Thanks for the help and advise. It may not have got me going but I did learn some stuff and that will always help.
I have some other questions but I will close my server thread and check to see if they have been asked yet or belong in another forum topic.
