Lost DNS!?
Fedora Core 4 - Apache
I was attempting to set up to host my web site and added the applicable zone files, yadda yadda and when I restarted and selected -Settings>-Services>DNS the window just flashes. Console requests for /etc/hosts and /etc/resolv.conf gives me Permission Denied. I restored the named.conf and zone files to pre screwed-up-by-me condition and restarted and still have the same isuue.

Re: Lost DNS!?
Can you describe these so called "Console requests" in more detail, please?

sorry winter missed your reply. the file permissions were okay...
It was the console requests. I was simply entering /etc/... and not preceding it with cat (I think there is another but that is the one I was taught) command.
I am new to Linux and command lines, etc
I am getting the hang of using the console but still far from configuring any programs with it. I still haven't been able to configure BIND in GUI! slowly but surely...
thanks to all that replied
