3 Comps, 3 Servers, What Distro?
Hello All,
I am sorry if this is already answered some where else, but here is my question. I have 3 computers that I am going to turn into servers in my basement. My Plan for the 3 is as follows:
1.) Counter-Strike: Source game server
2.) Database Server
3.) HTTP, FTP, and Mail Server
These are going to be all dedicated(that is all they will do), so UI is NOT important and I have a reasonable knowledge of linux.
So, my question is what distrobution of linux is the best for this? Best = most secure, reliable, ect...
Also, come to think of it, which database is better PostgreSQL or MySQL?
Thanks for any direction....
Matt

Go to DistroWatch.org. We get flooded with these questions all the time so this will probably get locked within the next few hours. As for the database question, it is purely a matter of opinion.

yep.. sarge is about as stable as you will find. you can ask just about any debian user and they will likely agree.
