ProFTPd and SuSE 10
As you can tell I am the new forum n00b, I am in a rush to get proftpd installed and working on my suse 10 box, i have the tar.gz i just want to make sure i install it sorrectly and so it will start on boot as well. Just to let you know i am a very inexperienced linux user i am not that familiar with commands. so if there is a guide that goes step by step or someone that could do that for me that would be very awesome
Thanks,
Chris

go to the newbie forum on this site and there is a link that explains with alot of detail how to install files form tarball, with yast you can add this to your startup script list. You might even be able to install it via yast in which case you won't have to manually install it...one that I know you can get through yast is vsftpd, which runs like a champ and has an easy config file to work through...[/img]
