    want to change terminal of a running program


    hi..
    in /pts/14 a prog is running remotely as greetings user.It is not running in background.
    but for some network connection problem I need to close the terminal.But I also need to run the program as well.
    How can I switch the terminal from root user ?
    How can i change the ownership of that prog ?
    If I can able to change the terminal.....or whatever.,I can close the greetings user terminal.
    Is there any way to do that in linux....
    pls help me.

    Hmm they sure didn't teach me that in class. I've been trying to figure this out since I started using linux. If anyone would like to help I'd be much obliged. And I promise it's not for homework >_<
