stop X at boot-up time

hello,

pls, how do I stop X (i mean the GUI) on Fedora Core 4 from booting up as a default whenever i boot up my FC4.

I would want to have the option of either starting X or logging in in the normal console window.....(like a dos screen)

cheers
Toks

Change your run level from level 5 to level 3 on startup.

Look at the file /etc/inittab

Look for the line that looks like this:
Code:
id:5:initdefault
Change that 5 to a 3
