mail sending and recieving server
i am looking for some programs that would allow me to send and recieve email...as a server
im working on a project for school
the idea is to use for if we have a delay or cancelation and send a message to students, parents, and staff's cell phone / email.
so what i need is a program that recieves mail, and keeps a record of incoming mail...i could write a quick bash script to get just the email address.
then when called, a program that would send mail to everyone on the list.
thanks

i got the sending part done...kinda
the whole point of this was to send to cell phones, but I didnt get the message and it's been 45minutes
i can send to gmail and yahoo just fine (yahoo makes it spam mail, but whatever)
hotmail does not work.
does anyone know why and how to make it so it will send to cell phones?
anybody up for me sending their cell phone an email to test that my system works?

ok..i got 8 people to voulenteer and i sent it to all of them.
7 out of 8 people got it...the 8th has the exact phone that i have, but a differant service so i guess it is just my phone that is the problem.
i have a Motorola V180 with Cingular service...and my friend with the same phone has T-mobile.
any ideas?
