Here is my setup, I'm running vsftpd on SuSE 10 - currently running in the default anonymous mode. I am seeking the most secure means of FTP; however, I do not feel as if allowing anonymous connections is the way to go. Often times, my organization seeks to transfer very sensitive files. What is the easiest way to secure the FTP server and force a user to supply a username and password for local authentication, to be used to access the FTP server?

I've read the vsftpd.conf.5 man page, but I failed to see where I can achieve this functionality. I do not want any casual observer logging on to my ftp server, anonymously, and viewing files that they shouldn't be viewing.

Any help would be appreciated.
