    Dovecot ssystem log error message

I am experiencing a problem that seems to be coming from a runaway Dovecot process. I am running CentOS4 - Postfix / Dovecot. The server seems to lock-up from kernel panic. See the log snippet below. The first few lines show the error message, then the kernel paging problem kicks in. I suspect it may be a configuration issue, but am unable to locate the cause.

    Any suggstions greatly appreciated,
    Ralph

The log file doesn't look normal to me as I run sendmail and dovecott, but it looks more like you have a hard drive issue or a ram issue than a dovecott issue.
Try running smart D sometimes it can clue you in a little more.
Smart D isn't the final word but sometimes if gives me a point to start looking for the answer.
Some people have told me they don't think a fat penguin really embodies the grace of Linux, which just tells me they have never seen a angry penguin charging at them in excess of 100mph. They'd be a lot more careful about what they say if they had.
