proftpd creates files as root
I have a somewhat weird problem. I have proftpd running as user nobody and group nobody. The strange thing is that even though i ftp my server as an ordinary user, all files and folders i create are created as user root, group root.
I have a fairly default proftpd.conf.
Can't figure this one out, and i would need some help. I would like all files that are created to be owned by the user who created them..
thanks
cheers
/edit
Solved. it wasn't proftpd causing the problem, it was that i was root when i mounted the encfs volumes.. stupid me...
sorry

Are you using anonymous logins or are you restricting to users only? I have mine setup as user driven with no anonymous logins. I only have one user that accesses it, and have that user as being part of the adm group so they aren't stuck in the home directory and when the log in and write files, they are the owners of the file.
