I have a nis server setup and on the client machines I can login with a user name thats been setup on the server. When I login to the server with that username all my groups and such are correct however if I login to the client only my intial group is set, all others are empty.

/etc/nsswitch.conf has
passwd: compat nis
shadow: compat nis
group: compat nis

I can simply add the username to the client /etc/group file and have all the groups show up but is there a better way to do this.. as in have NIS provide those groups?
