    Weird Issue with 8.12.7

    # /usr/sbin/sendmail -bv info@domain.com
/usr/sbin/sendmail... Cannot mail directly to files
info@domain.com... deliverable: mailer local, user thehemi

I upgraded from 8.12.6 to 8.12.7 and now I get
this message? My .cf should not have changed.

Mail seems to flow normally, with one exception.
Messages going to Majordomo lists will work, but
    an /usr/sbin/sendmail@domain.com "user known"
error gets sent to the mailer-daemon.

Any ideas what is going on with this thing?

Hmmm... what's -bv, and why do you want to use it? It's not documented in my manpage.

-bv Verify names only - do not try to collect or deliver a message.
Verify mode is normally used for validating users or mailing lists.

It is weird because all messages that go to, for example, my
    majordomo lists, bounce a "/usr/sbin/sendmail@domain.com"
message back with "user unknown" (to the list-owner). Odd.

When I had 8.12.6, with the same cf config, this did not occur.

Truly odd. Are you sure you didn't accidently overwrite your cf?

For the record, same thing now with 8.12.8 installed.
Rebuilt the cf file from scratch just to be sure, too.
