Connecting to NFS share from windows

Is there software that I can use on windows that will map UNIX/Linux NFS shares with permissions by logging onto the NIS?

  2. #2

AFAIK NFS is only used between .nix machines.

For windows and NIX use SAMBA shares.

You might be able to do it with cygwin. There is a version of mount that comes with that - I've never tried it with an nfs partition though; even if it works you may find that you have to mount the volume by hand (or use a logon/batch script to do it for you). Cygwin is free, you can get it here!

p.s. You dont have to apologise for being an arse...
