Rsync and mixed network
Hi
I have a mini home network that I want to bachup with rsync. I use the script from Mike Rubel's page
http://www.mikerubel.org/computers/rsync_snapshots/
My PC is a linux machine (ubuntu 6.10) en my wife has a WinXP. I want to backup to an external harddrive that has a FAT32 filesystem.
Now I have some problems.
On the Fat32 drive I cannot create hardlinks. If I make it a Ext2 filesystem, the Winxp can't read it. How can I do a recovery from an Ext2 drive to an winxp-NTFS system?
The following problem is: how do I backup from the winxp machine? In Nautilus I see the partitions as a SMB share. But with Rsync I get the message that there is no such file or directory.
