how to set up a ftp server..
hi i am using opensuse10.2 , and i have broadband connection with dynamic ipaddress , i want to set up a ftp server so that i can share files.. we guys , as a group tried down here in windows but didnt work.. first of all i don't know whether,canwe do it in the situation of a dynamic ipaddress.. and if, then how to do it.. please help me out..

You can use vsftpd or proftpd as an ftp server (details on how to do this will be specific to the server you choose and there are many helpful docs on the web). As for resolving the dynamic IP issue, you can use a tool/service like no-ip.

install proftpd
down proftp
open him with tar
after enter to directory
now we config the file wirte:cd proftpd-1.2.10
write:./configure
and now installmake
make install
and now run proftpd
good luck./proftpd start
