The server shares out several shares on the network. For a reason I can't seem to figure out some .xls files get "locked" when a user makes a change and saves it. Next time they go back into the file they receive a prompt...

opportunities.xls is locked for editing, Open read-only or notify.

smbstatus shows the file is in fact locked.
