    FTP server not working outside of localhost

    Hello.

    Im setting up debian server for my first time and after installing everything with success, I can't figure out how to get the Filezilla ftp or cuteftp to work. I installed filezilla via apt-get and expected it to work (I opened port 21 before hand). But I accessing with the filezilla client on my desktop and no connection. The only way it connects is when I use the ftp command on the server itself and connect it to localhost and even then I dont know where to set the username and password so I can log on!?!?!
