Access shared folders (Samba) from external location?

I have currently installed Samba on Server 1, and can access my shared folders on both Windows and Linux clients. But now I want to move my shared folders to Server 2. So I installed Samba, but I can't figure out how to access the supposedly shared folders on Server 2 from clients under Server 1, since it's on another IP!

What information could I provide to get hints on how to make this possible?

since these look like 2 publicly available machines, why not scp instead of samba, or even rsync

I believe the problem is with the firewall, if you disable the firewall rules i believe and strongly so that the mappinh will work. The problem with CIFS is that it uses to many ports. Potential security problems.
