Apache Restart failure
Here's my problem. If their is a virtual server in the apache config that points to a users www folder in their home directory and the directory is missing apache fails to restart. Is it possible to have apache start or restart even if a directory doesn't exist. More or less ignore any errors when starting?
I am not 100% sure about having it (re)start with errors, but as to your actual problem... shouldn't you be using 'UserDir'- not a virtual server? By default it is set up to use public_html I believe (in the users home directory) but that can be changed to use www. That would solve the error all together, as apache will start rather that directory exists or not.
