lets see if i can explain.
two linuxes RH 7.3 with a load balancer.
the certificate has expired.
lets assum linux1 and linux2
can i simply generate a new self-signed certificate somewhere on linux1, copy it to same location on linux2 and then edit both httpd.conf to point to the new certificates and restart them?
Yes, this will work just fine. That is how you load-balance SSL, just by copying the cert from one computer to the other.
THANKS. I'll try that as soon as the top guys decide that is apropriate to stop the hpptd. Then i'll edit this post to put the results :)
it worked. i generate a self signed certificate on one of the machines then scp them to the other.
then i edited httpd.conf to reflect the new locations of the .crt and .key and restarted both httpd (actually one first, test it and only then restarted the other).
