Debian or Ubuntu for Home/Business servers

Hey there,
Im going to rebuild my server and i was very interested in a package called ebox. After some research it seems that to install it on ubuntu server you need to be running a Gutsy Gibbon beta, and to install it on debian you can just follow many of the various guides.

I am wanting to set it up and leave it, and update it occasionaly. I figured ubuntu is a more desktop based OS and that would leave debian as a better choice.

What are the said advantages of using debian over ubuntu?

I would agree with your take on it. Debian Etch IMHO is and will be much more stable than Gusty Gibbon.

I agree too. Gusty Gibbon is not stable at all. Sometimes I have to work a lot on conf files and apt manager after updating it. Debian Etch is a perfect choice.

Just my opinion... but for a server, I'd definitely go Debian.

Im thinking of setting up a webui, is that a good idea? or should i just do it all via manual config file creation instead?
