DHCP server using Option 82 for static IP assignment
I search for some information about configuring a Linux DHCP server using option 82 (RFC 3046).
This function allow an static IP assignment based on
"A Device on Port 1 of Switch A will always get the IP address v.x.y.z"
It's based on the network topology rather the MAC address of the devices.
With the option 82 an automated faulty device replacement can be handled.
(device replacement means new MAC address)
I've got a DHCP server for windows and everything works fine but I want to switch over to Linux.
Does anybody has knowledge how to configure a DHCP server to use this fine function?
Thanks in advance,
