DNS and Name Servers
Hope to see you in good health.
Here is my set of Problem:
1. I have a Domain Name registered.
2. I have an IP Address registered.
3. I want to Bind that IP address with my Domain Name.
4. I want to run my own Name Server.
Here is what i had already done:
I went to www.zoneedit.com, registered my self there, and then registered my Domain Name with that Particular IP address of mine. Then I went to the site where I registered my Domain Name and gave the Name Server of "www.zoneedit.com", and my Website is up and running. So what's happening is that when some body types my website address it resolves it through their DNS Server.
Now what i want is to run my own Name Server and my Own DNS Server, in other words what i want is to give my own name server in place of Zone Edit's Name Server at the Registrar.
I am running following items:
RedHat Linux 9.
Bind Version 9.
Take care of ure self.
the only problem you will have is that most isps want two name servers - primary and a backup. so you'd need to ip addresses and two servers.
