help in making tomcat port 8080 accessible
I have installed the latest tomcat server on fedora core 2, and ran the startup script and all went well.
When I try to access it using an address like this:
I get a cannot found server error message. I have apache running separately also on the same server and I am able to access that successfully.
do i need to amend the /etc/services file? or anyone other relevant files in the /etc/ directory.
Esssentially i need to make that port accessible i think.
Thanks for your help
that appears to be the case
I have got rid of apache, and changed the port number of tomcat to 80 and it works fine. I do not have control of the router as it is a rented dedicated server but i think too that it is not forwarding http requests unless the port number is 80
