killing my webservers
I have installed XAMPP, now I want, to make it work properly, to kill my current webserver. How must I do that?
I am going to kill the current (standard-installed) servers, and after that I will start XAMPP.
Is it also possible to put in some config that I don't wanna start my standard server anymore?
many thanks in advance!

not familiar with Mandrake, but if there is a services manager in the menu you can use that to tell a service (apache) to not start on boot.
also you could delete the init scripts from your run level folders /etc/init.d/ for the particular server you don't want starting, like apache. it couldn't hurt to backup any file before deleting it. then reboot and it shouldn't start.
