openLDAP server startup error

openLDAP server startup error - nis.schema

I am running SUSE 10.0 and i am attempting to setup a samba/openldap PDC so i can have windows machines running (laptops mainly) on the network also.

I have edited my '/etc/openldap/slapd.conf' thus:

i have also amdended the database settings for my domain and admin account with password.

i have also added the following search indexes

I then attempted to start my ldap service with # /etc/init.d/ldap start

I then got this error message

The nis.schema is as it was installed

If anyone can help that would be brilliant. I amn assuming that i cant be the only person to have come across this problem

Hi,

I had this Probleme some Time ago too. I found the solution in a spanish Forum ^^. U can only use nis.schema or!! rfc2307bis.schema. Both of them conflict with each other ;)
I hope the hint is not to late.

I know that this was a pretty old post, but I am getting the same error. However, I am not using the rfc2307bis.schema file. I am very confused. I searched the included schema's I have included for the attribute that is supposedly duplicated, but found nothing. Any ideas?
