Postfix Logfile sasl auth
i've got a pretty easy question about a line in postfix logfile:
Sep 12 11:40:29 hostname postfix/smtpd: C5FA32855D: client=unknown[x.x.x.x], sasl_method=LOGIN, sasl_username=joeuser
What has happend when that line appears in that logfile?
1. A user opens a new connection and is then authenticating to send a mail. And if these lines appear very often then everytime this line appears a new connection will be opened.
2. A user already has an open connection to postfix and is just authenticating to send a mail.
I'm trying to debug an automatet e-mail-sending process in which more than a few 100 mails are beeing sent. Postfix at some time is not respondig well, and i think he is blocking further connections due too many connections are active or have been active.
Anyone got an idea?
