Setting up a web server
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.
I am trying to setup a web server with centos4 and I cannot seem to figure out how to get my domain name to resolve to the ip address of the server. I am a total newbie here and I don't know too much about this. I can connect to my server with putty and do commands but I don't know too much about dns and how it works as far setting it up.
I personally use DynDNS for my DNS needs (dyndns.org); also, if you're behind a router, you'll likely need to forward your ports to the correct machine.
In addition, you will have to register a domain name if you want others to find your Web site and as Javasnob mentioned, DynDNS is the way to go for DNS.
